The highlight of 2006 was a jaw-dropping display fired from the iconic Humber Bridge to celebrate its 25th Anniversary. Designed and presented from seven firing positions, to take account of the sheer scale of the 2,220m long suspension bridge, the display was a huge success.
The bridge posed some significant logistical challenges, not least getting over 5 tonnes of equipment and 3 tonnes of fireworks into position, and what positions. The towers, which are 130m above road level, were serviced by a single man lift so the equipment and fireworks were sent to the top over many repeat journeys. MD, Alan Hillary adds “our team of operators are a vital asset. As well as being highly experienced, they are a hard working bunch of people and we value their commitment”
Over 150,000 people witnessed the display, which brought the days celebrations to an awe inspiring conclusion.
